Before Cheers, M*A*S*H existed as a television comedy that ran for ten years—a surprisingly long time, especially considering it portrayed a war. The show had its share of very funny scenes, and also some deeply moving ones. We watched characters leave and others arrive: Henry Blake was replaced by Sherman Potter, Trapper gave way to BJ, Frank Burns exited and Charles Winchester came on board, and finally, Radar departed as well. However, certain things will always stick out, like the group drinking in "the swamp" or Klinger's costumes! M*A*S*H was a really wonderful and clever sitcom. I’m happy to have the complete series on DVD now.
