Synopsis

The old forger, Sam Wendell, succumbed to a heart attack while fleeing a mysterious priest, leaving behind one of his miniature creations. He had confided in his wife that this trinket held the key to a fortune, and the priest, shortly after, began attempting to force entry into the Wendell home. Lovejoy, determined to unravel the puzzle, resolved to aid Sam’s widow, who was left with meager resources, in recovering anything of value. In pursuit of this goal, Lovejoy adopted the guise of a p
