Love, Victor surpasses the film Love, Simon, though not significantly. It’s easily substitutable for countless other predictable teen shows—except that its central character happens to be gay. While there's some merit in seeing a depiction of homosexuality presented so broadly within popular culture, that’s really where Love, Victor advances things. Creatively speaking, the show feels restrained, uninspired, and consequently, dull.
