Synopsis

The therapist’s gentle prompting brought back a vivid memory: Darby, fifteen and desperate for her parents' notice, had applied to a boarding school as a means of achieving it. That Thanksgiving break, marooned on the campus, she met Luke Ducharme in the dining hall – an encounter that sparked a blissful week for the young girl. But the easy camaraderie dissolved when the student body returned, and Luke retreated into an unfamiliar reserve.
