Synopsis

Before crossing into Mongolia, Ewan and Charley had a brief passage through Russia. They welcomed the return to well-maintained roads, making swift progress toward Barnaul, a sizable city with a distinctly Western feel. The beauty of the Altai region took them completely by surprise; it was breathtaking. Once they reached Mongolia, however, familiar roadways vanished entirely. Instead, they would have to navigate by following tracks carved into the earth by heavy trucks.
