Synopsis

Khadijah re-evaluates her support of Max when the candidate defaults to tired platitudes rather than addressing substantive concerns. Instead, she throws her backing behind William Perez, a largely unknown high school teacher. Max accuses Khadijah of envy, suggesting she fears being overshadowed by her friends. While volunteering with his civics class to remove graffiti at a public park, Max encounters Perez and comes to understand that Khadijah's motivations for seeking office are fundamentally
