What we get are several distinct stories—each standing alone while also contributing to the larger picture—that explore unsettling situations everyone can encounter when it’s dark, alongside the sense of peace found in a safe, well-lit environment. The storytelling isn't presented in chronological order; instead, it shifts between different events, which seems intentional from the creators as a way to underscore the frightening and disconnected reality faced by the characters. Anyone acquainted with non-linear narratives shouldn’t find it difficult to follow what’s happening. A deliberate choice regarding the set design is that every light bulb in the brightly lit shop—the one named in the title—is a warm, familiar incandescent type, creating an inviting and cozy atmosphere unlike the sterile feel of fluorescent or LED lighting. The contrast with another well-lit setting that does use those colder types of lights immediately serves as a reminder that not all illumination is comforting, and similarly, darkness isn’t always something to be dreaded.
