Synopsis

As winter draws near, Alaskans brace for its arrival. In Noorvik, the Hailstone family heads out on a caribou hunt, gathering meat to sustain them through the long months ahead. Over in Kavik, a bear presents a danger to visitors at Sue’s wilderness camp. Meanwhile, in Eagle, Andy is repairing the fish wheel, safeguarding the food meant for his dogs. And in Chandalar, Glenn faces the arduous task of transporting a fallen moose—across both land and water—back to the security of his own camp.
