I anticipated something similar to Liar, Liar when I started Liar Game—something with a focus on inventive tactics, competitive mental challenges, and a lighter, more enjoyable feel. What I experienced was quite different; the show felt significantly darker and more pessimistic from the beginning, lacking that sense of equilibrium or amusement. It’s just unrelenting tension and characters consistently finding themselves in difficult circumstances. The unfolding events resemble what some might call "rage bait porn." The intention seems to be provoking annoyance, continually creating situations that deteriorate into the worst imaginable outcomes. Instead of providing a rewarding or intelligent experience, it prioritizes making viewers witness repeated failures—almost as if the central appeal is how much discomfort it can generate. Eventually, it ceases to feel like any kind of strategic contest and simply resembles bullying. The “games” aren’t based on equitable competition; they involve taking advantage of those who are less resilient or more trusting, undermining them while adhering to the stated guidelines. This makes it difficult to appreciate because instead of supporting ingenious maneuvers, you're just observing people being targeted.
