I've enjoyed medical documentary shows for years, which is why _Lenox Hill_ on Netflix appealed to me. The description states: _Two neurosurgeons, an ER doctor, and an OB-GYN fight to give their patients quality healthcare despite professional and personal challenges._ Located in New York City, Lenox Hill Hospital is a busy place, and the series observes the main characters as they work through their days. We see several key cases unfold, experiencing both the positive and negative outcomes alongside them. There are moments that are hard to witness when patients receive devastating news, but also times of genuine hope as doctors use their skills to save lives. The show effectively portrays how these people and situations remain with the medical staff even after they leave the consulting room or operating theater; their dedication is obvious. The lack of narration contributes to a very immediate feel. We primarily hear from the doctors themselves, along with conversations between them, their coworkers, and patients. It’s genuinely fascinating to observe. I must admit, I found myself feeling uncomfortable during one scene—amidst all the open brains and spinal injuries, it was the attempt to relocate a man's jaw that made me cringe. Besides the main series, there’s a later addition: a 30-minute bonus episode called Pandemic, which follows the same style but concentrates on the COVID-19 outbreak. I really enjoyed this extra segment and would have liked it to be longer. It offered insight into the turmoil in emergency rooms at the beginning of the crisis, how hard everyone worked to provide assistance, and the impact when colleagues became ill or passed away. Ultimately, _Lenox Hill_ is a very captivating series that’s definitely worth watching.
