Synopsis

A poem about trees, shared by Miss Landers with the class, stirred something within Beaver. He found himself preoccupied with the tree Ward had given him for his birthday, a tree planted in the old neighborhood. A thought took root: he would bring it to the Cleavers’ new yard.
