It became difficult to keep track of everything going on. Other shows that handle shifting timelines and alternate possibilities have ways of visually distinguishing them—like using different colors or blurring parts of the screen—but this one just creates confusion. Even though dates are shown to indicate the past, events unfold that don't seem to align with the present timeline, leaving you unsure whether something is a real occurrence, a fictional scenario related to the trial, or simply someone’s imagining of what might have transpired before it. It’s really convoluted. There was a point where a man who had already completed his prison term started questioning the main character, who himself is suspected and being monitored by the police. I don't understand why that would occur—was that also part of an imagined sequence? Is this how interrogations are done in Korean dramas? If you can figure out what’s happening, it might be worth watching, because I did find it compelling to see the main character seemingly set up for a murder with little chance of proving his innocence.
