Synopsis

Detectives are investigating the death of a rock singer found with significant traces of cocaine and heroin in her system. Their inquiries lead them to a former boyfriend, a disgruntled bandmate of the singer’s deceased husband. The prosecution’s efforts, however, are complicated by a retired detective – someone who previously collaborated with Briscoe – now a writer whose unorthodox research methods have cast him under suspicion.
