The justice system—not solely in the United States—is often oppressive and dysfunctional, frequently letting down those who have been harmed and, in some ways, even those accused of crimes, many of whom initially suffered due to its neglect and harshness. I personally dislike extended series like this because they largely reinforce conventional viewpoints instead of revealing them for what they truly are. The performances are adequate but occasionally feel strained and contrived, which is exacerbated by the rather predictable and stereotypical character development. Ultimately, my low rating isn’t solely based on the show's formulaic and uninspired nature; it’s because I believe it misrepresents the world we inhabit. Progress can only be achieved when the truth is brought to light, not concealed under narratives that suggest “the system generally functions” effectively.
