The house felt vast and empty to Lassie after Timmy's return to school, a stark contrast to the warmth of shared days. In her solitude, she found an unlikely companion in a raccoon. Their friendship blossomed, a quiet solace for the girl's lingering sadness. Then, tragedy struck. The raccoon, affectionately nicknamed Melonhead by Timmy, was struck by a speeding car driven by Johnny Sexton, a young drag racer. Lassie was heartbroken.
