Synopsis

Paul's offer to cultivate the land Cully had left untended seemed, to the old man, an invitation to surrender. He perceived it as a suggestion for retirement. But after Timmy’s spirited encouragement, Cully resolved to resist. He would reclaim his fields, yoking a horse to the plow and working the soil once more.
