Synopsis

At Marmaracik Fortress, Sultan Alaeddin apprehended Osman Bey. Though the Sultan decreed his death, Ismihan Sultan conceived a different course. She ordered Kantakouzenos and Olof to spirit him away, fabricating a tale of escape. Furthermore, Ismihan Sultan resolved to banish the Kayis from Yenisehir. The populace there suffered famine and disease, compounding their woes. Osman Bey and his people wrestled with internal discord and external peril, their circumstances growing increasingly dire.
