Synopsis

Caine crossed paths with Isaac Montola, a man recently freed from slavery in Brazil, whose fighting prowess was unlike anything he had encountered before. Drawn into a brutal altercation where Isaac was in peril, Caine intervened, but in the ensuing chaos, a valuable stone was lost. This single incident ignited a cascade of events, drawing together a widow and her children, as well as the young man betrothed to her, who filled his days with music at the piano.
