Synopsis

Kaiji and Ōtsuki arranged to play cee-lo, each convinced of their own advantage. In the initial rounds, Kaiji consistently wagered below the established limit of 20,000 perica, a pattern that soon drew weary sighs from the onlookers. However, spurred by Ōtsuki’s insistence on a doubled stake, Kaiji committed his entire 52,000 perica. He signaled to the Forty-fivers, who each placed a bet of 92,000 perica, bringing the total to 507,000 perica.
