Synopsis

In his retirement, John Adams often mused on the hardships inherent in a prolonged existence: the slow attrition of cherished companions, the creeping sense of being forgotten. Yet, from the depths of sorrow, a fractured friendship with Thomas Jefferson was reforged, allowing him to live out his days in conversation about his son John Quincy's bold aspirations for the presidency.
