Synopsis

Charles required a surveyor to identify the most economical spot for the stone needed in the viaduct’s construction. Annie and Johnny, meanwhile, learned that the chosen quarry site concealed the remains of Happy Jack and Skinny, and their discovery brought with it a fresh wave of anxiety. It seemed everything they had hoped to leave behind, everything they believed was settled, now threatened to unravel all they had striven to achieve.
