Synopsis

A reconnaissance team is discovered by Kurdy and Jeremiah, and one prisoner is taken: Quantrell, who once commanded Thunder Mountain during the time before the Great Loss, a period when Markus and his father also served there. Quantrell remains reticent about his origins, but Markus is struck by a memory of his mother’s arrival at the quarantined military base, where Quantrell left her stranded outside.
