Synopsis

Those critics who had dismissed Charlie Parker as musically excessive found themselves facing an even greater challenge with the emergence of Ornette Coleman. Both Coleman and John Coltrane pushed jazz further into uncharted territory, ultimately dismantling established musical forms. Though these innovators drew criticism from a significant audience, Miles Davis nonetheless created what would become the best-selling jazz album ever recorded: *Kind of Blue*.
