Synopsis

“Dedicated to Chaos” portrays jazz musicians poised at the edge of a new age, rebelling against the constraints of familiar, formulaic big band orchestrations. This upheaval began at Minton’s Playhouse, a modest club where figures such as Thelonious Monk, Dizzy Gillespie, and Charlie Christian gathered for Monday night improvisations. With the arrival of a young saxophone player from Kansas City, Charlie Parker, the bop movement truly ignited.
