Furoshiki are traditional Japanese wrapping cloths, squares of fabric employed for centuries to safeguard, store, and transport a multitude of items. Often adorned with vibrant, intricate designs, they are themselves objects of art. Today's guest, Yamada Etsuko, serves as art director for a company dedicated to Furoshiki creation. She demonstrates basic wrapping techniques to Peter Barakan, showcasing both time-honored patterns and contemporary innovations.
