I found myself pretty disappointed. Perhaps I’m partly to blame, since I read the novel beforehand and had preconceived notions—something I generally avoid doing. However, most of the shortcomings are due to Tommy Lee Wallace's film, which simply isn’t very good. It does boast an astonishing performance from Tim Curry, though, who is exceptional as the story’s main antagonist. Final rating:★★ - There were aspects that resonated with me, but ultimately it was a letdown.
