I wasn’t going into this series with high hopes, given the current state of television writing. It seems those involved in creating it appear to genuinely feel that their perspectives are superior, resulting in a narrative where a gifted young woman is portrayed as inherently prone to criminal behavior simply because of her race—a prejudiced assumption rooted in condescension. It’s difficult to imagine anyone who isn't biased believing someone has an advantage based on their racial background. The people promoting liberal ideologies seem to be the ones perpetuating racism, operating under a belief in their own inherent superiority. These performers are worthy of more respectful and thoughtful portrayals, but sadly, this reflects how Hollywood views them.
