Synopsis

Following the capture of Irma Vep by Moreno in a pivotal scene, René found himself the target of criticism for the sequence's suggestive nature. Unmoved by the censure, René drew parallels to the attempted censorship of the 1916 film *The Vampires*, and to the original Irma Vep’s tenacious efforts to ensure her film's survival. Elsewhere, Mira navigated a landscape of intricate feelings as she became increasingly immersed in the role.
