This series isn’t really a slow burn; it feels like nothing happens at all. While I generally enjoy deliberately paced science fiction, this one fails to engage me because there's no one to connect with, and it lacks any warmth or distinctiveness. The story moves along at an agonizingly slow pace and doesn’t make much sense, presenting itself as something profound when it’s really just low-budget sci-fi like the original *Independence Day*, but with delusions of grandeur. I'm writing this after watching Season 2 Episode 5, and I keep hoping things will improve—it simply must get better. Unfortunately, they don't. Please learn from my experience and avoid it if you can; there’s still time to spare yourself. The visuals are appealing, and Sam Neill has a brief but welcome appearance.
