It’s par for the course that this series would attract a lot of negative comments centered around accusations of “Wokeness.” It seems people are shocked to see a television program derived from a novel concerning homosexual vampires. Honestly, it's upsetting when characters aren't white. This show is undeniably superior to the film adaptation and explores themes more profoundly than the original books, and it has the freedom to portray queer storylines openly, something Anne Rice couldn’t accomplish back then because of prevailing homophobia. If you’re going to criticize its inclusivity, perhaps reconsider watching a piece of media that's arguably among the most overtly gay available—you odd individuals.
