Synopsis

Detective Inspector Morse is called upon to investigate the reported theft of erotic paintings from the collection of Sir Julius Hanbury, a local baronet vying for election as the next Master of Courtney College at Oxford. Adding to the unusual nature of the case, Sir Julius himself has vanished. Morse discovers Sir Julius’s body, and the initial impression is one of homicide.
