Synopsis

In the autumn of 1970, Detective Chief Inspector Gently found himself revisiting a cold case: the conviction of a woman accused of murdering her husband, a case long closed and forgotten. The shadow of injustice lingered, prompting him to reopen the investigation. But as he delved into the past, Gentle faced a difficult choice – expose a potential miscarriage of justice, or risk tarnishing his own standing within the force.
