Synopsis

A summons from the tax authorities arrived for Alan, sending a ripple of anxiety through him, particularly concerning a receipt he needed to submit – a receipt for a Christmas present received from Bill Oddie. Simultaneously, he found himself engaged in an increasingly elaborate attempt to persuade Sonja that he genuinely knew Bono.
