Synopsis

Dust motes danced in the single shaft of light illuminating the basement. Tim paused, a wrench heavy in his hand, listening. A faint rustling, then a subtle scraping sound – not the familiar scurry of a mouse, but something…else. Something that sent a prickle of unease crawling up his spine.
