I consistently feel let down when I view American or Western television programs and movies, and this one is no different. There seems to be an odd preoccupation with race in America. A woman was murdered, and those involved in media are emphasizing that she was a white female. It's unclear why her ethnicity is even relevant; a person has died—it’s upsetting. Things don't improve from there. The initial scene of the first episode features an explicit sex scene where a woman appears to be nearing completion. Naturally, the couple involved is interracial, and then the husband arrives to find his wife in bed with another man. He quickly understands what’s happening and departs. It seems they feel compelled to depict graphic sexual activity on television because it's apparently so "vital." Furthermore, the deceased white woman was having affairs with numerous people. Her husband was aware of this and seemingly accepted it, explaining that he couldn't satisfy her sexually due to health problems. This paints a picture of a deeply flawed society. It’s disheartening how American and Western culture, in general, seem so corrupted, and instead of concealing it, they appear eager to display this kind of content across numerous shows. I had been watching Korean series previously; not only are they considerably more wholesome, but they prioritize compelling narratives over explicit material and what seems like a deliberate agenda. They offer a glimpse into how much better the society and people in Korea are compared to those in the West. Despite all that, I’m rating it 6/10 due to the story and its unexpected conclusion. I finished watching the entire series, and the plot is genuinely engaging with a surprising ending. It could have earned a higher score if the show had been handled with more discretion.
