Synopsis

A tremor ran through him, a sudden, sharp discord in the otherwise predictable rhythm of the school day. He retreated, seeking sanctuary in the quiet confinement of the principal's office, the door bolted shut against the world. He would not emerge until the imbalance was rectified, until order was restored.
