I have to say, Xena was better, but this one started things off. Essentially, it felt like a live-action children's action cartoon—the kind they used to make in the eighties—and it was brought to life in a really low-budget and cheesy way. Kevin Sorbo understood how to play something with humor, managing to seem serious even when he was involved in something silly, which is exactly what the part required. However, then Xena appeared, and it felt more predictable, more exaggerated, and ultimately better than this initial, inexpensive live-action cartoon adaptation. It's just pure fun, and that’s what makes it enjoyable. I appreciate older shows designed to make you laugh, keep your attention, and avoid pushing any particular message.
