Synopsis

A disappointment settled upon her like a heavy cloak. The unexpected failing on the quiz meant the promised CD player was no longer within reach. Anger flared, hot and sharp. She stormed from the house, a sudden impulse taking hold. The familiar surroundings blurred as she ran, the need for escape eclipsing all else.
