The potential was there for a decent science fiction series, but simply using the Halo branding drags it down considerably. The writing team seems to disregard everything that previously made Halo enjoyable—the backstory, the action sequences, and the sense of importance. What viewers are presented with is essentially a space-themed melodrama, and not even a well-made one, capitalizing on the Halo title.
