I was truly hoping to enjoy this. As a longtime fan of the Halo games—starting with the very first one—I had high expectations. It’s clear that the studio was drawn to the concept behind the franchise but demonstrated a lack of regard for what actually makes it special. The final product bears little resemblance to Halo, disregarding the established history, background details, and overall narrative. The visual effects were disappointing, the action felt poorly executed, and the story itself failed to engage, as did the actors’ portrayals. Despite my enthusiasm, this fell far short of my hopes. Considering all the promotional materials and statements from the production team about wanting to create something “different,” I was prepared for a rating around 3 or 4 out of 10 in terms of enjoyment. My actual score is a low 1.5/10; it was even worse than I feared. It’s simply not worth your time. Paramount, what were you thinking?
