Synopsis

Rakka accompanies Nemu to the library, where they encounter Sumika, a gentle woman carrying a child. Sumika is particularly curious about Rakka's experience as a newborn. Nemu shares a tale of an ancient book, *The Beginning of the World*, its text indecipherable with the passage of time. Rakka learns of another gathering of Haibane – both men and women – residing in the derelict factory on the opposite side of town.
