Synopsis

She dreamt of falling, a dizzying descent into nothingness. Meanwhile, beings of a grace almost divine discovered a vast cocoon within their dwelling. The girl awoke enveloped in the silken folds, and with a surge of effort, she burst free. Her saviors, winged figures who called themselves Haibane, greeted her and bestowed upon her the name "Rakka," along with a halo crafted of deception. One of them, Reki, remained by her side as ash-grey wings, feathered with pain, unfurled from her back.
