This series seemed like it could be something special, but ultimately fell short of its promise. The rhythm felt uneven, suffering from drawn-out stretches and an unnecessary number of episodes—24 total—that felt stretched thin. There were times when things progressed nicely, only to grind to a halt, leaving you thinking, "Please, let's keep the story going." These pauses didn’t seem intended to deepen our understanding of the people involved or prepare us for future events. Trimming it down to around 10-12 episodes, while eliminating some of the less important elements and concentrating on the political aspects, would have been a better approach. The plot lost momentum and became duller after the prince entered the palace, especially in the latter portion. Also, Go Ah Ra didn’t seem right for her part; she appeared too delicate. Her character, Yeo Ji, was reduced to a minor appearance later on, with very little impact or time on screen. It seems likely that the character wasn't truly compatible with what was happening, making it difficult to maintain her presence and perhaps explaining the forced romantic storyline—it felt like the writers were scrambling for something to do.
