Synopsis

Following the demise of the childless Elizabeth, Mary’s son James at last ascended to both the English and Scottish thrones; however, he soon found himself contending with rising Catholic unrest, which ultimately erupted in a plot orchestrated by Guy Fawkes to destroy the Houses of Parliament and assassinate the king.
