Synopsis

She arrived home to an unsettling stillness, a sense of detachment clinging to the familiar rooms. It felt as though time had passed for everyone but her, that life at Cal had continued its course without a glance backward. The house seemed subtly altered, imbued with an atmosphere of forward momentum she was no longer a part of. Meanwhile, Jazz and Doug’s connection deepened into a tangled complexity, further complicated by the unexpected news Jazz carried back from the NCAA track finals.
