Synopsis

Derek and Callie are immersed in a brain mapping project. Richard, meanwhile, urges the interns to draw upon his own physical struggles as a means of understanding. Following a conversation with Callie, Meredith begins to contemplate carrying on her mother's work. Elsewhere, Shane grapples with persistent guilt over Heather’s death.
