Synopsis

The twelfth season of *Great Performances at the Met* returns to PBS on Sunday, March 25th, with the American premiere of Thomas Adès’s *The Exterminating Angel*. This surreal fantasy depicts a dinner party where the guests find themselves inexplicably trapped, unable to leave. Inspired by Luis Buñuel's iconic film of the same title, the opera features John Tomlinson and Alice Coote in the leading roles, with mezzo-soprano Susan Graham as the host.
