Synopsis

Renée Fleming embodies one of her most celebrated roles—the Marschallin—in Richard Strauss's *Der Rosenkavalier*, the season closer for *Great Performances at the Met*. Opposite her is Elīna Garanča as Octavian, the opera’s spirited and youthful protagonist. The production, conducted by Sebastian Weigle and directed by Robert Carsen, brings the beloved work to the screen.
