Synopsis

Anna Netrebko, the celebrated soprano, and Yonghoon Lee, the distinguished tenor, make their Metropolitan Opera debuts in Verdi’s *Il Trovatore*. Netrebko portrays Leonora, the tormented heroine who offers her life for the sake of her beloved, the Gypsy troubadour Manrico, whom Lee embodies. Dmitri Hvorostovsky sings the role of Count di Luna, Dolora Zajick delivers her acclaimed performance as Azucena, and Štefan Kocán is Ferrando. The performance is conducted by Marco Armiliato.
