Synopsis

Jonas Kaufmann, the celebrated tenor, takes on the role of the tormented poet in the Metropolitan Opera's latest production of Jules Massenet's *Werther*, presented as part of the Great Performances at the Met series. He is partnered by Sophie Koch, a renowned interpreter of Charlotte, with whom he has previously shared the stage in Paris and Vienna in the same roles.
